Ministry of Tourism has decided to introduce ‘mystery guests’ to travel to tourist establishments for inspecting compliance with the SOPs and guidelines set forth by Health Protection Agency (HPA) and Ministry of Tourism for the safety of tourists, employees and the local community.
Mystery guests will stay in the tourist facilities and be treated as normal guests and will make their bookings at the facilities independent of the Ministry. Based on the experience of the mystery guests throughout their stay, they will report to the Ministry directly on any breaches to the SOPs and guidelines during their stay. They will also give feedback on the establishments that adhere to the SOPs and guidelines.
Furthermore, to ensure the safety of all, the Ministry will continue to make site visits to conduct the usual inspection of tourist establishments.
